Collection: Achondrites

An achondrite meteorite is a type of stony meteorite that lacks chondrules, which are spherical mineral droplets found in chondrites. Achondrites are believed to originate from differentiated planetary bodies, such as asteroids, and have undergone metamorphic and igneous processes. They are classified into various groups, including eucrites, diogenites, and howardites, each with unique mineral compositions and textures. Achondrites account for about 8% of all meteorites and are thought to have originated from the crust of asteroid 4 Vesta, among other sources.
