This one is called Sahara 99152.  Long ago, before the Meteoritical Bulletin existed, there wasn't a classification system for meteorites.  During the mid-to-late 1990s, the Labenne family (Marc and his sons Jim and Luc) would hunt the Sahara Desert in Northwest Africa.  With each meteorite they found, they painted a field number on it which was their way of cataloguing each one.  This one has 99578 painted on it.  It means it was found in 1999 and it's the 668th meteorite they found on that year's expedition.  This is definitely a beautiful piece of meteorite history that has been preserved and is looking for a new collection to call home.

I have this piece listed under my ordinary chondrite category, but it may not be an OC.  The only way to tell would be to slice it open and find out.  If you decide to buy this stone, you can get it classified yourself and find out.

The weight of this piece is 209.4 grams.
