NWA 12265 Eucrite Melt Breccia from Vesta 211.5g

This is a beautiful, polished slice of NWA 12265.  This is an HED achondrite that was classified as a Eucrite-melt breccia.  Only about 4.43 kilos of this material were found in Africa.  Eucrites are achondritic stony meteorites, many of which originate from the surface of the asteroid 4 Vesta and are part of the HED meteorite clan. They are the most common achondrite group with over 100 meteorites found.  In short, this beautiful meteorite is a piece of an asteroid known as Vesta, that came from our asteroid belt in outer space!  This has been professionally cut and polished.

The weight of this slice is 211.5 grams.

The measurements are about 165x149x5mm.
