Gadamis 003 "Apollo" Lunar Ferroan Anorthosite Slice - 29.6g
This is a stunning slice of Gadamis 003 "Apollo" lunar! This meteorite was found in Libya in early 2022. The total known weight of the stone was 12.70 kg. It was then sold to meteorite dealer Mark Lyon. He then sent it to Dr. Carl Agee at the University of New Mexico, who scientifically analyzed it and found it to not only be a very unique lunar meteorite, but it is almost identical to what NASA brought back from the surface of the moon on the Apollo 16 mission! This is a single stone with patches of dark fusion crust and smooth, light, green-colored patches. One side is more irregular with a weathered surface that was fractured at some time in the past. Polished sawcut surfaces reveal cm-size clasts of anorthosite bounded by darker, fine-grained, cataclastic zones. Anything brought back by NASA is illegal to own and will never be available to the public. However, if it falls to our planet in the form of a meteorite, it's fair game! This is your chance to own a very rare and unique piece of the moon! This piece has been professionally sliced. It has also been polished on one side.
The weight of this piece is 29.6 grams.
The measurements are about 85x75x3mm.
