Canyon Diablo Iron Meteorite Lightly Cleaned Individual 50g

This is a beautiful piece of Canyon Diablo from the famous Meteor Crater (aka Barringer Crater) located outside of Winslow, Arizona.  This meteorite hit Earth about 50,000 years ago during the last ice age.  It was first discovered around 1891.  Prior to that, Native Americans living in that area found pieces of the meteorite and used them as tools.  From the late 19th century to the early 20th, some believed this crater to be a possible volcano but there was little evidence to support those claims.  The debate was finally settled in the early 1930's.
