The Broken Hill meteorite is an Ordinary Chondrite (L6) that was found in December 1994 in the Broken Hill area of New South Wales, Australia.  The main mass resides at the Museum of Victoria, Keysborough, Australia.  Broken Hill is one of 57 approved meteorites from New South Wales.  Its L6 classification places it among the more metamorphosed ordinary chondrites, making it valuable for studying the effects of high-grade metamorphism on meteoritic materials.
